VA Elite had three major victories at the East Coast Championships in Pittsburgh during the weekend of May 24-26th.
VA Elite 18s (Cobras) won the 18s Beast of the East Competition. This was a new division, focusing on allowing teams that have already qualified for Nationals to face the toughest competition. The Cobras were undefeated for the weekend, with a record of 6-0, and took home the Gold.
If it's possible to thrive on adversity, the VA Elite 17's (Surge) must think these are good times! Short on players (only 7 on Sunday and Monday) but long on heart, the team never gave up. Down by 9 points in the second set of the finals, the team dug deep and rallied to win a thrilling match against a strong opponent to claim the 17 Championship Division title.
VA Elite 16s (Rush) had a full contingent of players but faced some tough competitors from Canada, Indiana, PA, and Ohio. Rush went undefeated for the weekend, with a record of 9-0, and won the Gold in the 16s Championship Division. Way to go, Rush!
