Coach Mehdi Named Coach of the Year and 7 Elite Athletes Earn Washington Post All-Met Honors

Virginia Elite has 1 coach and 7 athletes that have earned Washington Post All-Met honors for the 2024 season!! The Washington Post makes its picks for the D.C. area's top athletes in every fall sport.

This year we are excited to congratulate the following coach and athletes:

2024 Coach of the Year:  Mehdi El Alaoui, Bishop O’Connell

  • No volleyball team in Bishop O’Connell’s history had won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association championships in the same season until El Alaoui’s group did it this year. A cohesive group, the Knights scored impressive wins over defending champions Holy Cross and Flint Hill in the title matches.

2024 All-Met Second Team:
