Swing Lab

Virginia Elite swing lab: Smarter mechanics. Stronger attackers

Swing Lab is Virginia Elite’s proprietary attacking development program focused on  building efficient, repeatable, and durable attacking mechanics.  Rather than chasing raw power alone, Swing Lab trains athletes to sequence movement correctly; producing speed, control, and explosiveness through the body’s natural kinetic chain.

The result is a swing that is not only stronger, but more reliable under fatigue, pressure, and long-term training loads.

The Swing Lab Philosophy

Great attackers don’t just swing harder, they move better. Swing Lab is built on the belief that sustainable power comes from:

  • Clean movement patterns
  • Proper timing and sequencing
  • Body awareness and control
  • Consistency before intensity

By emphasizing how power is created, not just how it looks, athletes develop an attack that holds up over time.

How Swing Lab Works:

Swing Lab sessions are designed to help athletes experience efficient movement, not just observe it. Through guided resistance, controlled sequencing, and targeted repetition, athletes learn how to:

  • Load and transfer energy effectively
  • Coordinate hips, core, and upper body
  • Maintain swing efficiency at game speed

This hands-on approach accelerates learning and reinforces mechanics that translate directly to live play.

Key Outcomes:

Athletes who complete Swing Lab training develop:

  • More efficient attacking mechanics
  • Improved power generation without added strain
  • Greater consistency under fatigue
  • Increased confidence and repeatability in their swing
  • Reduced mechanical breakdown over time

Who Swing Lab is For:

  • Pin hitters refining mechanics and efficiency
  • Developing attackers building a strong technical foundation
  • Athletes managing workload or returning from injury
  • Advanced players looking to fine-tune movement at speed

Coaching & Curriculum Standard

Swing Lab is delivered by Virginia Elite-trained instructors who complete advanced internal education specific to attacking mechanics and athlete safety. The curriculum follows a structured, progressive pathway, allowing athletes to build movement quality before layering speed and intensity.

This ensures consistency across age groups while meeting athletes where they are in their development.

Attendees: Middle & high school boys and girls with volleyball skill training and playing experience on middle/high school and/or club team. Space is limited to 15 athletes per session.

Offerings: It takes many hours and touches on the ball for athletes to refine a skill, as such, participants are welcome and encouraged to repeat camps and clinics.

Schedule: Six separate 6-week sessions per the schedule table below.

Price: $215 per session

Swing Lab Instructors:

  • Lexi Patton, Executive Director and 18s Team Head Coach
  • Pete Kay, Program Coordinator and 18s Team Assistant Coach
  • Steve Stotler, 12s Assistant Coach and Executive Chairman of the Board

Note: The session price is for all 6 dates. No prorated pricing, discounts, refunds or transfers available as we have limited space in each session.
