Kelly Hughes
Floater Coach
Kelly Hughes enters her fourth year at Virginia Elite as a floater coach. She brings a combined 14 years of playing and coaching experience to the program. Raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, Hughes continued pursuing high level volleyball as a dual athlete at Missouri Baptist University for indoor and beach volleyball. She placed top 3 at Small College Beach Nationals while competing with Missouri Baptist University’s Beach Volleyball team in 2017. In addition to those endeavors, Hughes was also the captain of Carson-Newman University Beach Volleyball team from 2018 to 2020.
Some of her accolades include: winning the “Most Committed Award” in 2019-2020 for CNU Beach Volleyball and winning “Student of the Year for Sport Management” at CNU.
Hughes’ coaching experience and extensive knowledge spans over being an owner of Tidal Beach Volleyball club since 2021, assistant coaching at Catholic University in 2022, and numerous setting clinics at Virginia Elite.
Kelly received a B.A. in Business Administration/Sports Management at Carson-Newman University and a Masters in Quantitative Management at New York University. She currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia, and is a Lead Data Scientist at AForge LLC.Email Kelly
