13's Head Coach

Returning for his fourth season with Virginia Elite, Ryan Walker steps into the role of Head Coach for the 13s team after a successful season coaching the 14s team and two successful seasons assisting the 13s. With seven years of playing and coaching experience, Walker brings a strong focus on player development and competitive excellence. As an assistant coach with the 13s, he guided the team to multiple medal finishes at Open Level Tournaments, demonstrating his dedication to fostering a winning team culture built on skill development for younger players. Walker believes that a foundation in fundamental skills is essential for cultivating a winning mindset, vital for the growth and success of young athletes.

As a former setter, Walker had a standout high school career, earning a four-year varsity letter at Douglas High School in Leesburg, Virginia. He served as team captain for two years, received All-County honors twice, and earned All-State recognition as a senior.

Walker’s coaching career has been equally impressive. He previously served as the Head JV Coach at McLean High School, leading the team to a remarkable 26-2 record over two seasons and securing two conference championships.  As Head Coach of the JV team at Bishop O'Connell, Walker led his team to a WCAC championship in his first year with an outstanding 18-1 record.  He is currently serving in his first year as the Varsity Head Coach at the Potomac School.

Walker holds a B.S. in Construction Engineering Management from Virginia Tech. He resides in Sterling, Virginia, where he works as a Project Manager at Mark G. Anderson Consultants, focusing on developing and building new schools for DC Public Schools.
