Steve Stotler Named 2025 JVA Junior Club Service Award Recipient

Virginia Elite Volleyball Club is incredibly proud to congratulate Founder and Chairman of the Board Steve Stotler on being named a recipient of the 2025 JVA Junior Club Service Award!
Steve is one of just 35 individuals nationwide selected for this year’s honor, which recognizes the dedication and loyalty of coaches, club directors, and administrators who have served junior volleyball for at least 20 years.
For Steve, that service spans 21 years with Virginia Elite and a commitment to creating opportunities for young athletes to grow through the sport of volleyball.
Steve founded Virginia Elite in 2005, building the club around a belief that volleyball should develop far more than athletes. From the beginning, his vision has centered on creating a competitive and caring environment where players develop discipline, character, leadership, and excellence while having a positive experience that helps them grow both as players and as people.
Over the past two decades, Virginia Elite has grown into one of the region’s most established volleyball programs. The club has earned multiple bids to USAV Nationals across the Open, USA, American, and Freedom divisions, helped more than 200 athletes continue their volleyball careers at the collegiate level, and developed collegiate All-Americans and six Gatorade Players of the Year.
But Steve’s impact extends far beyond the club’s competitive accomplishments.
For more than 20 years, he has also coached at the high school varsity and junior varsity levels and continues to be an active presence in the gym today as a Virginia Elite 12s Assistant Coach. Throughout it all, Steve has remained committed to creating an environment where athletes work hard, compete, develop, and — perhaps most importantly to Steve — have fun doing it.
Through his vision, leadership, service, and steadfast commitment to Virginia Elite, Steve has built much more than a volleyball club. He has helped build a community that has impacted generations of athletes, coaches, and families.
As JVA Executive Director Lisa Wielebnicki said of this year’s recipients, their decades of commitment and leadership have helped “shape generations of athletes” and build the foundation for the future of junior volleyball.
