Faidra Madarou

15's Head Coach

Entering her third season with Virginia Elite, Faidra Madarou serves as the Head Coach of the 15s team. With nearly three decades of combined playing and coaching experience, she brings a wealth of expertise and a global perspective to the program.

Originally from Greece, Madarou began her volleyball journey at age twelve with the largest club in her hometown. Her talent and dedication quickly stood out—by thirteen she was competing across multiple age groups, and at fifteen she secured a spot as the main right-side hitter on the women’s team, signing her first professional contract with Aigaleo Volleyball Club. A year later, she was invited to join Greece’s National Team Developmental Program. Competing at the National Division I and II levels, she earned multiple awards as both Best Hitter and Best Server, underscoring her impact as a left-handed attacker.

At nineteen, Madarou balanced a demanding career at Centrofin Management Inc., one of Greece’s leading shipping companies, while continuing to compete at the highest levels of volleyball until her retirement in 2011.

Her coaching career spans more than two decades, beginning in Greece with athletes aged 8 to 15. After moving to the U.S., she assisted at Belmont Ridge Middle School in 2021 before joining Libero Volleyball Club, where she coached U12–U17 teams and led advanced prep clinics. At Virginia Elite, she most recently led the 15s team, following a season at the helm of the 14s. In addition, she served as the Freshman Head Coach at Bishop O’Connell High School during the 2024–2025 season.

Madarou resides in Vienna, Virginia, where she also works with her family at their restaurant, Our Mom Eugenia.
